Our May fundraiser, Nanaimo Without Borders, raised well over $1,000 for refugee resettlement. The concert was held on May 21, 2022.

 

Brazilian-Canadian singer Bandeira Parker performed bossa nova tunes with jazz pianist Michael Anderson. 

 

Ammar Alfakosh, a former refugee from Syria, sang songs from his homeland. ​Paul Manly played a couple of his original songs. And Myriam Verzat sang some of her favourite French songs.

 

The show was held indoors in the Pacific Gardens Cohousing community atrium. All funds raised went towards ROAR's work.
